Final Blog Post and Group Presentation Day

Image
Today my group along with three others presented our Collaboration Project 2 to the class. My group went 4th, or last of the day so we were able to look at other projects before ours was presented. Most groups did images with a voice over but one group made and acted out an actual video. I thought this was cool but it did not resonate with me like the others ones did. I am glad my group and I stayed away from that as it seemed much harder to understand. All of the groups did well and if I had more time to make changes to my project I would've added some things /i took from the work shown today. However, I think we did one of the best out of all the groups that went today in terms of content, video, and presentation. Our topic had to be an awareness we wanted to make known so we chose Modern Slavery. I felt our finishing product was good and well thought out with a solid presentation. We took ample time to make sure our transitions flowed with one another's topics. Grading mys...

Collaborative Project 2

Image
We have now started our collaborative project 2 . In this assignment we are to choose a topic we feel fairly strongly about that doesn't get enough notice. At first we had a really weird and specific topic but we changed our topic to Modern Slavery. This an a much easier topic to talk about, find research about, and give people awareness to. To most people i n the United States , slavery is gone and not even an issue anymore. However, they are far from the truth and my project will expose just how much slavery still is involved in the world today both in the States and around the world. We are to present this information to the class and show what we can do about it and how we will get the word out. My piece in this presentation is the spreadability and how we should get awareness out to people so the issue is known. Fortunately, slavery is something that is hated by most people and I think it will be easy to spread it around and get the message out. Image by Roka TYT via Wikimed...

1000 word blog post

Video by Seeker via Youtube Throughout history, certain people have been coined with the inventions that have shaped the way the world is today. Individuals have gone down in history as “the best”, but did they really do it all themselves? There had to be some sort of help they received along the way, no matter how small. We cannot recognize every person that contributed so we only give the notice to a few. However, most events, achievements, creations, etc. have been a result of some sort of group or groups working together. Below is an example of two people that were given notice for the creation of this TV show that required the help of many more people.   Image by Daniel Benavides via Wikimedia Collaboration, despite what you might think, is something most people partake in on a constant basis. Whether it is a group project in school, a sports team, online gaming, even your job; collaboration has become a vital key to success in everyday l...

The Aftermath of Harambe

Image
Most people that have access to the internet know about Harambe and the sad story that happened there. It was a huge national news story and debate over what should happen to the animal. In my personal opinion; he should've been given a medal for not harming the child. But he was killed and people went insane. Meme's, hate crimes, jokes; all a result of social media spreading things people created about the situation. The famous quote "Dicks out for Harambe" was introduced and apparel even was made. Within all these postings emerged dark humor that has taken over the sadness and turned it into a joke. I personally think it is of course sad, yet I still find it to be more of a joke due to social media and the internet giving me that perception. Here is a link of a reading we read for class that brought me to write this page. I think it has an interesting way of comparing two animal killings that were completely different.   Image by Carine06 via wikimedia
